It is 1097 and William I's greatest fortress and palace, the White Tower, has just been completed.
With the help of one of William's courtiers, students will explore this magnificent keep and the challenges facing the still-precarious Norman court.
Through examination of the exterior and defences students will discover the symbolic power of the great 'Norman fist on Anglo-Saxon soil'.
