With restricted visitor numbers each day, you can safely explore the history of this famous fortress, palace and prison.
All public outdoor areas of the Tower of London are open, as well as the Crown Jewels, South Battlements, Medieval Palace, Bloody Tower, Torture at the Tower exhibition and some floors of the White Tower. All other buildings remain closed.

See the Crown Jewels, the ravens, Bloody Tower, Medieval Palace, battlements, the public outside areas of the Tower of London and magnificent armour displays in the White Tower, including Line of Kings. All other buildings remain closed. Meet our Yeoman Warders positioned along the one-way route and hear their captivating stories about the history of the Tower.

Find out moreThe first prisoner of the Tower, Ranulf Flambard, Bishop of Durham was also the Tower's first escapee. In 1101 he climbed through one of the White Tower's windows using a rope smuggled to him in a gallon of wine.
