Discover what life was like at Hampton Court during the reign of King George II and Queen Caroline. Experience the opulence and beauty of the Georgian court.

There are many art forms on display at Hampton Court. This session gives students is the chance to explore the Georgian State Apartments to see the wide range of art on display. 

The session is delivered by a presenter skilled in supporting students with special educational needs. It is based both in the classroom and on route, and includes the following:

  • Singing a rhyme about exploring the palace.
  • Handling replica objects.
  • Listening to music.
  • Trying on costume.
  • An exploratory tour of the Georgian State Apartments.

Learning objectives

Students will:

  • Learn about Hampton Court’s stories and history.
  • Be empowered to use their senses to explore new historic environments.
  • Develop social and emotional skills.

This session is suitable for students with MLD, SLD and PMLD, who attend special schools or units.

Please note that the presenter will be in costume throughout, unless otherwise requested. The session is suitable for students aged between 6 and 18 years.
