Experience Christmas like the royals! Find out how celebrations changed through the ages.

Children will find out how Christmas was celebrated at Hampton Court Palace in the past, to use the palace as evidence for unlocking the past and to explore through games, storytelling, art and craft. 

The session is delivered by a presenter skilled in supporting students with special educational needs. It is based both in the classroom and on route, and includes a tour of the Tudor palace and the opportunity to make a crown to take home. 

 

Learning objectives

  • Learn how Christmas was celebrated at Hampton Court palace in the past.
  • Be empowered to use their senses to explore new historic environments.
  • Develop social and emotional skills. 

This session is suitable for students with MLD, SLD and PMLD, who attend special schools or units.

Please note that the presenter will be in costume throughout, unless otherwise requested. The session is suitable for students aged between 6 and 18 years.
