Updated 19 December: In line with the latest government guidance, Hampton Court Palace and gardens will be closed from 20 December until further notice. Please note this also includes the ice rink and Magic Garden.
Due to the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic our school programmes have changed. Hampton Court Palace will be open for school visits from February 2021. Bookings will open from 16 November 2020.
Tailored activity trails are available for all key stages, SEND and international schools to structure and support an exploration of the Palace.
School sessions are available for A Level.

As with many public venues Historic Royal Palaces uses a range security measures to help minimise the possibility of terrorist, or other criminal activity taking place, and these measures also include procedures to deal with incidents should they actually happen.Security statement
Visitors are welcome to take non-commercial photographs and films within most areas of Hampton Court Palace. Photographic equipment - such as tripods and selfie sticks - should not be used inside the palace. For religious and copyright reasons, photography is not permitted in the following areas:
Historic Royal Palaces is a safeguarding aware organisation and takes its responsibility to protect children and vulnerable people seriously. We may sometimes ask therefore that visitors refrain from filming or photographing other visitors. If you have any concerns about a member of the public taking photos of your school or education group, please speak to a member of staff.
